I posted in this forum: http://theme-dutch.com/wordpress-support/topic/how-to-changeturn-off-the-highlight-color-for-bricks/#post-12088
I’d love to have a unifying highlighting color (such as white or gray). Can you tell me where I can access those cods on teh style sheet?
Many thanks,
Amber

Great to see you here on the premium forum. I went to take a look, here’s where you can change these colors.
James / css / black.css
Line 30 to line 45 contain the different sorts of bricks and their hover colors (background).
/* COLOR THE BRICKS */
.brick1 .colorInside {
background: #0F9;
}
.brick2 .colorInside {
background: #FF9;
}
.brick3 .colorInside {
background: #F03;
}
.brick4 .colorInside {
background: #F6F;
}
.brick5 .colorInside {
background: #09F;
}

20/06/2013 at 8:52 PM #12121Is it possible to edit this in the editor (if so, which section?) rather than the original files?
Many thanks again,
Amber
21/06/2013 at 6:33 PM #12134Hi Amber,
I went and tried out something and there is a possibility to do it from the editor. This isn’t the most beautiful way of coding the change as you’ll be overriding the current setting instead of altering it. It does work just as well though.
You would first have to make the css file writable by changing the file permissions in order to be allowed to edit it from the wp editor.
Then go you can go to style.css (regular stylesheet).
I’d suggest you to make the change in section 05. BRICKS. It really doesn’t matter where you do it but since it’s a bricks thing it would be correct to categorize it there.
Just add the following lines of code
.brick1 .colorInside {background: #FFFFFF !important;}
.brick2 .colorInside {background: #FFFFFF !important;}
.brick3 .colorInside {background: #FFFFFF !important;}
.brick4 .colorInside {background: #FFFFFF !important;}
.brick5 .colorInside {background: #FFFFFF !important;}
you can change the color code there to whichever you like, I’ve done it in white here.

06/10/2014 at 9:27 PM #65484Hi Kevin
I think I am doing something wrong to change the background colours in my portfolio boxes. I tried adding your lines of code through editor but changing to grey (#808080) and I am not seeing any difference - they are still either red or pink backgrounds. I’ve attached a screenshot - would you be able to take a look and tell me where I’m going wrong please?
I’m using James v1.2 and WP v4.0
Many thanks in advance

07/10/2014 at 9:27 PM #65497Hi John,
could you share me a link toward your website (to a page where I can see these portfolio boxes)? That may help me find out what’s wrong.
Kind regards,
Kevin -
