    Greetings,

In searching your forum, I found this (#63076).

I’m in California using Bluehost. I recently went to their ‘Pro’ server which is supposed to be faster.

I ran some speed tests on my sites (I have a hand full of WordPress sites) using pagespeedgrader.com. All of them loaded between 3-5 seconds except my Joop site, which I use at keni.com. It was always the slowest 6-9 seconds and scores 62%. I switched themes temporarily at keni.com and it improved slightly in speed. I really like the way Joop looks, but is there any way to punch up the speed aside from taking all the shortcode fancy stuff out?

I contacted Bluehost and they said it could be a plugin, javascript, css, or ??? issue. They want to charge me for optimizing keni.com. Yuck. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Keni

    Hi Keni,

Could you perhaps share a link toward the topic (#63076)? I’m seem to be unable to find it just using that identifier.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Not sure of the link, but I did a search for ‘slow’. Scroll down to Mikes post, 12/03/2014 at 10:23 PM. I hope that helps.

    Hi Keni,

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure that I knew what Mike’s latest statement was on this.

I have gone ahead and ran a speedtest on our demo site for JOOP. You can see the results here:

    http://fpt.pingdom.com#!/dtMQdg/http://www.theme-dutch.com/presents/joop

When I look at the breakdown, it doesn’t seem like the theme is taking that much time to load. It is mostly the images (big slider images) and server waits.

Now do note that I did this particular speedtest to a server located in amsterdam. Our server that hosts the demo is also located in the Netherlands. When checking on a USA server the speed is quite a lot lower, however when I take a look at the breakdown, again it is connecting to the server (and also some large demo slider images) which seems to be the slowing factor.. The scripts themselves appear to load pretty fast.

You could perhaps run this speedtest on your site as well to see the breakdown (share it with us, if you wish) so we can see what seems to be happening there.

    Kind regards,
    Kevin
